FAQs
How long will I be in therapy?
Great question, but the answer is that it really depends. Most clients see progress between 6 and 12 sessions, but it ultimately depends on your goals for the therapy process. I have seen clients for one month and others for years. Remember, this is your journey, you can choose when to start and stop therapy.
How long is each session?
Typically, a therapy session is roughly 50 minutes. However, there is flexibility with this depending on each client’s needs.
What can I expect during our first session?
During our first session, we will take some time to get to know one another, ensuring we are a good fit! You can expect me to ask you some questions about yourself, including physical and mental wellbeing, family history, what brought you into therapy, etc.
How much is each session?
My rate is $150 an hour, self pay. I accept most major credit cards, cash, or check.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not. I am considered to be an out-of-network provider, which means I don’t accept payment from insurance companies. However, I can provide you with a monthly superbill that you submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
Before submitting for reimbursement, it may be helpful to ask these questions to your insurance company:
1. What amount do you cover for psychotherapy for out of network providers?
2. Do I need a referral from my primary care doctor?
3. What is my deductible and have I met it? How does that impact out of network reimbursement?
4. What are my routine behavioral health care benefits?
5. What credentials must my therapist have for me to receive reimbursement? (My therapist is an LMFT).
Do you offer in person sessions?
For Maryland clients, I offer in-person, telehealth, or hybrid sessions. My office is located at 1009 Frederick Road, Catonsville, MD 21228.
I am only offering teletherapy services for clients located in Illinois.
